The Digital Culture & Innovation (DCI) Program

The Digital Culture & Innovation (DCI) Program

The Digital Culture & Innovation (DCI) Program by Voice of Heritage (VOH) bridges tradition and technology to preserve and modernize Rwanda’s cultural heritage. Central to this initiative is the Inanga Modernization Project, which redesigns the traditional instrument for contemporary use in amplified performances and creative music production. The program also leads the documentation of Inanga through digital audio-visual archives, ensuring its techniques, stories, and performances are preserved for future generations. In addition, it supports research on traditional instruments and their evolution, encouraging young innovators to explore new designs, materials, and performance styles. By developing new know-how and fostering digital creativity, the DCI Program empowers youth to reimagine Rwanda’s cultural assets as dynamic tools for education, innovation, and global cultural expression.

Building the cultural foundation needed for innovation, vocational development, and social transformation.
